Eagle Pond: Two Grey Birds on a Grey Day
More and less threatening in large.
There was funny light on the common this afternoon... These birds are standing on the fence that protects the new (small) wetlands area behind Eagle Pond: it contains reeds and some other wetlands plants, and seems to be favoured by dragonflies and various other invertebrates, but is (perhaps) too small to attract much other wildlife (yet). I approached it slowly, but still spooked it (and it flew off, scaring away the wood pigeon).
I also photographed the Goosles (of course), and their photos are right from here.
Goosle highlights:
Snoozy goslings
Gosling preening
Mr. preening
Gosling flapping!
Gosling scratching its head
