Duchess of Hamilton

On display in the standing exhibition at the National Railway Museum, the LMS Princess Coronation Class 6229 Duchess of Hamilton gleams under the spotlights.   The loco was re-streamlined in 2009 at Tyseley  and looked splendid in her crimson lake and gold livery.    Loco 34051  also features prominently in the current exhibition as part of ‘Churchill’s Final Journey’, along with the luggage van that carried his coffin and the Pullman carriage ‘Lydia’ that carried his family.   Sadly I found this part of the exhibition to be rather sombre.
