Lawn or Meadow?

It’s been 5 weeks since this part of the lawn was cut.  The soil here is very thin and low on nutrients so the grass grows slowly. However, a lot of other plants seem to thrive in this tough environment so most years I leave it for most of the summer and let these small colourful flowers develop.

I've been away from Internet (and telephone) for four days so I'm backblipping one picture a day until I catch up. Today it was the 18th.
