Angle Tarn: Unfinished Business

Last year's active walking week was supposed to have started with a walk to this lovely location... except that the weather closed in and we nearly got blown off the fell. Literally.

This year, we only had a brief shower (ironically at the same spot where we stopped for lunch) before the sun started to come out for brief spells in the afternoon.  In a way, the really frustrating thing was how close we were to Angle Tarn at the point where we turned back last year.  It can't have been more than half a mile away.

This shot is straight out of camera and the additional shows the view into Martindale, taken during our lunch stop.  We couldn't see any of this last year!
