Auckland: Daily Madness

In New Zealand we pride ourselves at "punching above our weight" internationally in many areas, given our size (small), location (bottom end of the South Pacific) and population (4.5 million), and I believe it is something of which to be proud.  However, my hometown of Auckland (population almost 1.4 million) suffers from the most horrendous traffic which I'm used to seeing in Chinese cities of 5+ million.  

This blip is sadly what is expected at 5.43pm on a week day but I was caught in similar traffic at 12.30pm!  When will it change?
