Helsinki

This was a lovely city although initially I found it a bit austere. Lots of evidence of its time under a more rigid regime but now it is bright , with clean lines and happy people. We did a coach tour followed by a tram ride then ate strawberries and ice cream. The Finns are very proud of their city but are still feeling the after effects of the economic difficulties in recent years and the current issues in the Ukraine as they usually get a lot of their tourists and trade from Russia.
The monument is the Sibellius monument and the islands outside the port reminded me of the Moomintroll illustrations.
