Equus Altus

“Equus Altus” is a 5 metre high two-tonne pack horse, mounted on top of a ten metre high column in the Leeds Trinity shopping centre.
Created by Andy Scott it was apparently inspired by Leeds' historical use of pack horses. (although I'm sure it wasn't just Leeds where pack horses were in use back then...)
In any case, I like the way it teeters above the atrium looking down on the hustle and bustle going on below. This, along with various other sculptures add interest to the already impressive and airy atrium.
