Pretty Peacock

This beautiful European Peacock was sitting peacefully on a flower when Lady Marian pointed it out to me. I dashed in to get a camera but of course it had gone when I returned. I waited and it reappeared and settled on some gravel. Not the background I would have preferred but you take what you can, don't you? I was able to get quite close and after I'd taken some shots I waited to see if it would go somewhere else. It did but that was next door's garden unfortunately.

I'm uploading late because after cutting the grass (ahead of the incoming rain) and heading out for my fist pint of English beer at the Thursday jam night, I ran aout of time. 

It's throwing the rain down here this morning (Friday) but I gather it might clear this afternoon. Here's hoping!
