The Magic Of Johnny Roadhouse Music Store M/C
Whilst walking along Oxford Road I came across the Johnny Roadhouse Music Store . Magical . Born in Sheffield January 1921 ,he lived in Manchester from an early age. A self taught saxophone player he had his big break in the 40's playing with professional orchestras and also opening his Roadhouse Music Store in 1955.The store is wonderful and here you see his 1st sax which still plays. The instruments in this store are new plus exceptionally good quality second hand rare items .Look at the 1920's banjo ! I met this young man who obliged me by playing the accordion he as trying. We went on to play Ukeleles together and then he found his choice of the day.A 5 string banjo which he bought after he had played 'Leaving Of Liverpool'... we both sang and he agreed to filming it for YTube .The rain was still falling when I left the store but I was , rather like Gene Kelly, singing in the rain ' and giving thanks for the Johnny Roadhouses of our world .....and for MUSIC .....
