I'm stumped

An old stump. Maybe some view it as ugly, some as an object to just be removed, some as potential as a stool? We watched an episode of Magic school bus recently and the students saw all that but then discovered the stump's value as and where it is as a home for hundreds of insects and more, maybe a burrow for a snake or rabbit or ground squirrel.
