Abandon camp.

Today I was hoping to use an impressive image of the Snowdonia mountain range in all its glory, but despite the best of intentions we never made it on the planned walk yesterday.

The day had started productively with a 7 mile run through the beauty of the Welsh countryside, but after a bbq breakfast and the commencement of what was to be 20 hours of solid rain we were only heading for one place.

Thankfully our chosen camp site was a only a short hop from Beddgelert and after cheering on the competitors in the Snowdonia Marathon we headed straight for the pub. Our own marathon finished 12 hours later, but not until the pub was cleared of Aftershock and the benefits of H&S goggles had been demonstrated to anyone who would listen.

It was looking a bit bleak on the way back to camp as we waded through the flood waters with only mobile phone light to guide us and I guess we shouldn't have expected much with the tent already leaking that morning with the first spots of rain. So on arrival there was only one decision to be made and a night sleeping in the cars was the only option.

A cracking weekend amongst true friends.
