Sun Over Loch Leven
Despite the drizzle and greyness His Lordship and I drove over the bridge into the Kingdom of Fife and onwards to the little village of Kinghorn nestled down on the water line with a fine view of Edinburgh on the other side of the Forth. While that city seemed to sparkle momentarily in a few rays of sunshine, we had negotiated stair rods of rain and roads like streams at Burntisland.
We had been invited by the partner of my friend omts to look at an art exhibition in the Kinghorn Community centre where he had several paintings on display. There were also textile pictures and stone carvings by another couple we had met. We were delighted at the standard of exhibits and put a red dot on a ink and watercolour painting of Plockton.
We soldiered on to Kinross and with its High Street closed, had an interesting diversion round the houses twice before we found Loch Leven. The sun was out again and we had lunch looking over the loch with the castle of Mary Queen of Scots fame bathed in sunlight on it own little island.
Back to a cheerless and raining Edinburgh-just 153 days to Christmas. I thought that would cheer you all up!
