After The Rain Has Gone

I noticed this morning that the farmers had safely gathered in the barley harvest. I saw that they had piled up the bales into big stacks and I wondered if they would have been gathered in by the time the sun went down, or whether they would look good in the evening light. Fortunately they were still there when we wandered up the lane this evening. It was beautiful with a low sun and calm still air.
