“Slinky” - invented and developed by Richard T James in 1943. His wife Betty dubbed the toy Slinky when she read the dictionary meaning of the word was sleek & graceful. This is from Wikipedia.
I never had one of these toys, neither did my children, but going by all the comments, many of you spent hours enjoying this ‘toy’.
