Curtains
I went to a farewell function tonight, it's been Tuesday since I last got out of the house (since I can't drive at the moment). So I very much appreciate being out and about, and seeing people other than the four walls (or wait till after 5pm to see my flatmate comes home from work).
It's been a bit of an emotional period for the Geoscience team from work. Mike, one of the managers is retiring and moving back to the US. He's been a legend in the company. He's the one who built the geothermal technical resource team in our company. Within the geoscience team, there are 12 nationalities, it's a huge step from nothing to bring in all the expertise from around the world. Not to mention he's the base player of the band (there's a group of people from work plays as a band together social and for our monthly drinks). Mike's very personable and genuine. He gives honest opinions, we all learnt a lot from him, and have huge respect for him. He's the kind of manager who has got his employee's back. It's really really sad that he's leaving. I think we're all going miss him. :(
