Ooops
I forgot a simple thing today, which unfortunately caused a lot of distress to a complete stranger.
On the way to Reelig Glen for my Sunday afternoon stroll with the dogs, I stopped off at Lily Loch to take this photo of the water lillies.
I left the dogs in the car as it can be very boggy and Poppy would have wallowed. I knew I would only be a few minutes taking the photo.
Usually I remember to press the button to immobilise the car alarm, but on this one occasion I forgot.
I was busy snapping away when I heard the car alarm go off, Bud as usual was getting impatient and probably leaping up to look out of the window to see if I was coming. I took no notice as I had nearly finished.
Then I heard this pounding along the raised wooden walkway, this puffing and panting and a very distressed, scarlet faced, rather overweight, middle aged gentleman came into view, running as fast as he possibly could and looking very anxious. "Don't worry", I called out, "it's my car, not yours. I forgot to immobilise the alarm and have left the dogs in the car."
It took him a few moments to realise what I was saying, he stopped running, bent over, still puffing and panting and rather crossly managed to grunt, "I thought it was my car, I thought all my gear had been stolen."
I did apologise, asked him if he was ok, "NO" was the reply, but by then his wife had also appeared, so I very quietly crept away back to the car and the dogs. I carried on to Reelig Glen, feeling very guilty.
