Bitter Sweet

Hendstock Boxing Day and in accordance with tradition, we cook bacon, eggs and sausages for the 5,000 and clear up the house and garden.
We managed to get most of it done before it started raining.
It was odd after everyone left and the house was quiet again but we have spent a happy afternoon going through our photos and looking at other people's shots from last night. We've had loads of lovely comments and thanks from people who attended and the amount raised for 'Meningitis Now' stands at £705.57.
Alfie was happy to go out and fill the jug with the remains of the Black Bar Beer from the barrel in exchange for a shandy.
Steak and a bottle of nice wine this evening and early nights all round, I think.
