For he's a jolly good fellow...hip, hip hooray!!

Nick turned 9 today and we had a birthday tea for him this evening. Dad managed to get home early to celebrate with us which was great.

Louis is on his school trip this week and it was very strange not having him here. The children are not allowed contact with home for the week, and I can understand why. We did think they might make the exception for a birthday if we asked, but we all agreed before-hand that we would not ask and celebrate together on Saturday when Nick has his party.

Nick has just blown out the candles on his delightful Man Utd cake that he insisted on! I was glad he insisted on this cake, as I would never have managed to bake one with all that is going on here at the moment.

My lovely mother-in-law Diane is arriving tomorrow so I'd better get a room sorted!
