Oil and water
Finally made it back to the Arch for a good climb this morning. Tim's started a new challenge, having completed his year-long 1,500 mile walking challenge recently (in aid of the MS Society) - as he turned 49 recently, he's decided to try and climb 49,000 ft in the next year. As the walls at the Arch are roughly 13 ft high, he's worked out that he needs to climb about 72 routes a week, so he made a good start on it today, climbing 36 routes. I tried to keep up with him, but it was hard work - think I may have just scraped about 30, but it was so tiring!
Crappy rainy weather today, so I decided a bit of macro photography was in order - always a good way to create a bit of colour on a gloomy day. I've experimented with oil and water before, but I'd read something recently about using washing up liquid, too, so wanted to give that a go. The technique's pretty much the same (standing a glass of water on top of coloured paper - no torch this time) - you just drop a few drops of washing up liquid into the water as well as the drops of oil (no need to stir - it has an immediate effect). Endless fun!
