Sol LeWitt in Hartford
This is a colorful wall drawing by Sol Lewitt in the Wadsworth Atheneum in Hartford, CT, unfortunately partly obscured by two columns. In the foreground is a large cube by Tara Donovan constructed entirely with wooden tooth tooth picks without any adhesive whatever.
LeWitt was born in Hartford and had his first art classes as a young child at the Atheneum. A huge pair of wall drawings dominates the three-story entrance hall of the museum.
The main object of the outing was to meet my son Adrian who drove up from New Haven; we had a good lunch together in the museum's cafe. Unfortunately his friend Liv was away, at a conference in Vancouver.
