WOMAD-Mahotella Queens

The Mahotella Queens from South Africa comprise 3 regal, passionate, energetic, talented, charismatic women - two in their 70s and one in her 20s backed by a guitarist and drummer.  I have seen them on video and heard them on the radio but nothing can compare to seeing them live.

The rain poured down constantly today turning the ground to mud (Festival Soup as I call it) but I still managed to catch several great performances, including a fabulous 'bhangra brunch' in the Taste the World tent.
