King of the Castle

Hockenhull Platts is fast becoming my favourite default blip location as there always seem to be interesting birds, insects and butterflies around. I called in on the way back from Sainsbury's and spotted this Common Red Soldier Beetle. 

While we were down in Hay-on-Wye we bought a comprehensive guide to identifying insects and if anything it has made the job even harder. There seem to be a lot of very similar species and in this case a whole page is given to soldier beetles. I think I have got this correct though.
