Summer Cactus Surprise

I was a little shocked when I peeked out my back door this morning. A Grizzly prickly pear cactus had popped open a flower!

I thought these were all done in late April. Looks like there are more buds, too. I don't remember seeing prickly pears blooming when the temperatures were consistently over 100F.

This is a nice summer surprise. Even the bees liked it.
