Blackbird (and me) moving on

The decision has been made to give up the allotment and tonight I went along to start clearing things out.

Over the past couple of months I've been keeping an eye on a blackbird's nest in my rose bush, fist while she was brooding the eggs, and later I could just see the chick. A lot of commotion this evening, with the mother calling from a nearby fence-post, and on my way out, I spotted that s/he had fledged.

So chuffed I'd managed to see this.
