Tree Creeper
Occasionally I will see this little bird on the conifer trees in the neighbouring garden. It flits around from one tree to another climbing up the trunks and out branches in search of bugs.
As there was a bit of early morning light on the trees I thought it was time to try and blip my first Tree Creeper. Easier said than done as it would disappear round the back of the tree just as I was about to get it in focus. There were also lots of little branches and twigs in the way that made finding it and then getting it in focus all the more difficult. I was about to give up when it flew onto the exposed trunk of one of the trees. That was my chance to get today's blip in the bag. Its quite well camouflaged and only really gives its position away when it moves. Makes a change from the usual garden birds that come to the feeders and certainly more challenging to blip!
This evening the local community business group I am involved with gave a presentation on a new mountain bike hire business we hope to establish in Carradale by next Easter. We managed to secure some Lottery funding and hope the initiative will help revitalise the area of the Heritage Centre and Tearoom where it will be based. The meeting was well attended and we managed to get another 10 volunteers to help refurbish some of the buildings and manage the grounds.
Just another thing to be involved with in retirement - it certainly beats sitting at home watching TV!
