So happy, so proud, so sad

Photo 1. (Top left) Ruth and Doug, two of my best friends. The shot taken about 25 years ago just before the birth of their first son.
Photo 2. (Top right) Ruth and her son Lewis. Significant because by the time it was taken Doug had died of a massive heart attack. Taken too soon and leaving Ruth with two teenage boys.
Photo 3. (Bottom right) one of the last photos of Lewis and his dad. Both boys idolised their dad and missed his presence greatly. Lewis struggled for some time to contain his grief but in doing so he grew into a wonderful, caring and thoughtful young man.
Photo 4 (bottom left) Lewis and Morgan, the girl who helped him through some of his grief, who has helped him grow. He recently asked her a question and yesterday she announced to the work what her answer was.
I am so happy for them but I did cry a lot because it made me miss my friend Doug so much. He would be so proud of the man his son has become

I've got some saving to do for a wedding in Scotland :-)
