Room with a View 208/365

My last day's shot taken looking out of Astley Castle where we were staying for the weekend.  This fortified manor was destroyed by fire in the late 1970's and left to go to ruin. In 2013 the Landmark Trust restored part of the building and stabilised the ruins in the rest, creating a unique property with modern walls in the places where there was empty space, modern oak floors and doors with bare stone and brick interior walls with the old ruin still surrounding and integrated into the modern glass, brick and wood masterpiece.
