Hole in the ground

I went up to the allotment to do a bit more picking (although with much caution regarding my posture), and was a bit surprised to find that my way in appeared to be blocked. Turned out that I could squeeze past the white van, but no concessions for car drivers were in evidence. There were two men in reflective jackets down in the hole. I guess they're heading for the little substation which masquerades as a garage (and is where the wee spudgers have taken to hanging out).

Oh lawks, that reminds me - must buy more bird seed!!
