Birthday Bee

My 50th birthday is today but had to work a full day so not a very exciting occasion.  The good news is that I am getting packed now and we are off tomorrow morning for a much needed 5 day getaway. 

I assume this is some kind of bee but if anyone has a positive identification, I'd love to know what it is.
