There Will Be Rain.
There was an “old wives tale” that cows lie down if it’s going to rain to keep patches of grass dry for urban picnickers. I haven’t heard it for a long time now, presumably because no modern urbanite would venture into a dirty field, to sit near a cow pat and eat their lunch. Some of these animals did look positively comatose and, sure enough, later on, it did rain - very heavily.
On the way home we walked underneath some lime trees buzzing with honey bees. Although we could hear them quite distinctly it was a little while before we could actually see the little critters. When we arrived home and checked, our bees were flying in that direrection where-as they had been going the opposite way ever since they were first installed in the garden.
I have just posted, “Rhea on the Nest” from the 14th of July.
