Avocet

Another character in the ever changing lineup at the river mouth. Today there were hundreds of seagulls, a handful of egrets, a little flock of those pointy black and white birds, a scattering of mergansers, one white heron, and an avocet. The lagoon is thick with food right now. The rangers were there again testing for steelhead, and they said there were plenty of smelt for everyone.
