butterfly whispering...
...today
okay - yes... i'm on a toot with butterflies of late - i refuse to apologize! they are one of the most beautiful and fascinating flying little creatures ever... if i could but capture them every day - well - so be it... boo!
this little one... went flitting by me - did a double twirl about my face as i was leaning over a flower... then very gently landed on a dandelion... once i began a quiet muttering to it... she started to almost dance around in a slow circle upon the dandy - really... i'm not making it up - wings open... wings closed... half open... partially covering the dandy... you get the idea - what a perfect way to spend time with a butterfly subject...
i kept asking myself, her too, if she was a monarch... she's similar in coloring - but the one i shot the other day is more the typical monarch i'm used to seeing - this one doesn't have the white with black - it's more brown with orange... although i guess there could be more than one monarch variety? obviously i'm not the expert here, so if someone has an idea - feel free to comment... i chose this view because it shows both the upper and under side of her wings - i love being able to see the veining - so cool, isn't it? creation is astounding - remarkable - to partake in observing it every day is such a privelege... a real joy - one we shouldn't take for granted - knowing it makes for...
a
happy day.....
