Gunnera by the lakeside.
Whilst searching for wildlife to photograph, I saw this enormous plant alongside one of the lakes I have been visiting. It is Gunnera Manicata otherwise known as giant Rhubarb. It is a native of South America from Columbia to Brazil. At its biggest, it can be 8 feet tall and up to 12 feet across the leaves. My beloved is 5 feet 2 inches tall which gives an indication of its size, the actual base of the plant is about 2 feet lower than the footpath!
