The Big Bang

Confession time. I put two eggs on to hard boil, as you do, went away, started reading, got distracted when there was an almighty bang emanating form the kitchen!  Oh-oh, I had forgotten about the eggs; went in to see the damage and found this (see also the two extra photos). So, one exploded egg which took the saucepan lid with it, bits scattered on the floor and cooker surface, and one other very unhappy egg sitting in a very blackened saucepan. Oh, and a very smoky kitchen.
