The Way I See Things

Snap, crackle and pop

The engineer arrived at about 11am to fix the tumble dryer, so I was able to get out for a walk with the dogs before noon. I discovered that it's quite difficult operating a DSLR one-handed because you've got two leads in the other hand - especially using BBF - but luckily it was bright enough for a fast shutter speed, and because I wasn't shooting close the depth of field of the wide lens was in my favour.

As you see the barley hasn't yet been harvested, but if they don't get to it soon they might well find that the entire field has exploded like popcorn - the noise coming from the crop today was extraordinary. I'm hoping that I'll be around when they do harvest, to see if I can get some interesting photos.

I've been tending to forget over recent weeks that when I process images in one of the Topaz plug-ins, the conversion to a tiff file strips out the EXIF data. If you want the technical stuff, this was ISO 100; f/8; 1/800 sec;10-18 lens at 10mm; processed in Topaz Adjust.
