Pátzcuaro Airport
Technically it is the Aeródromo de Tzurumútaro, but it is the closest airstrip to the town of Pátzcuaro located about five kilometers away on the road to Quiroga. I have glimpsed this Aeromexico plane many times on our trips for carnitas, but today I finally found time to ride my bike over and check things out. There is something very wrong at this particular airstrip, notice there is no tail on this plane and the lack of wings on the one in the background. These two were not alone, it seems that none of the planes parked on the well manicured grass were in any kind of flying condition. Considering the "runway" is a rutted dirt track in a pasture (barely seen in the foreground) I bet it was quite a feat landing that passenger jet in the first place. No wonder it never left.
