Kayaks and crannogs

Spent a wonderful morning kayaking on Loch Tay. Explored along the north shore to a crannog site. Not hard to imagine what it was like to be doing the same thing in the Iron Age. The boat may have been different and probably wouldn't have had the luxury of a wetsuit but it would fundamentally been the same experience.

Wind got up on the way back but after some quick tips from Campbell on the best way to paddle through the waves and cope with the wind direction pushing us into the shore I got into a good stroke and got home before the rain caught us. Good to know that all his kayak training has paid off. I was pretty impressed at how at home he was in the boat and how fast he could power along , I think he would have covered twice the distance without us to slow him down.

Great day, must do more kayaking.
