Brougham Castle.
Another busy day round home and by evening meal time I was desperate for a change of scenery and a blip which wasn't floral. So we decided to have a bit of a run round looking for blips. Living in a city with no car Katkatkat doesn't get much chance to drive, so she drove.
We ended up at Brougham (pronounced Broom) so today we have a shot of the castle. Started in the early 13th Century it was sited in a defensive position which had been recognised by the Romans who built a fort called Brocavum there. It played an important role in the troubles between Scotland and England, even hosting Edward I in 1300.
