Winter gardening

Hellebores, cyclamen camellias and early flowering cherries are colouring the garden right now and it's the time of year we do lots of tree pruning as well as the shrubs of course. A beautiful day dawned , so when the air had warmed by 10am , we headed outside and equipped ourselves with pruning saws, chainsaws,loppers,mower and trailer plus tip truck and worked all morning clipping and shaping, then after lunch Dr D sawed the heavier branches into firewood lengths and we stacked the remainder onto the truck and took it down to the recycling dump...all complete by 3.30pm. Not a bad day's work, I'd say !
