Atlas

Atlas holds the Earth and the Heavens in place. He always has and he always will.

But what that means has changed over the years. He has to do what people believe.

Originally, people believed that he held the world (or the heavens) upon his shoulders. And so that is what he had to do. But, nowadays, people believe in a world spinning around a sun and it is Atlas who has to arrange for that to happen. This is harder.

And people are now starting to believe in the magical esoterica of quantum theory. Atlas's job is getting a lot harder. A lot harder.
