At the end of the day I took a walk down to the rocks below Scarborough. A gorgeous day, but its surprising how the air chills off as the sun goes down. Wandering along the foreshore by the Sumner Lifeboat ramp I suddenly gave myself a fright - a fur seal so well hidden on the rocks that I didn't see it till I was rather too close for his comfort! I backed off in a hurry. They are not often seen around here, not something you would expect to bump into like that.
