Beware the backwash !

Sandy Beach - surf is supposed to be going down, but it was something to see.   There were multiple breaks, and explosive backwash spectaculars, which rear up behind you, taking you unawares, as in this entry.    Poor guy slid right back down.
Thank goodness for the EXTRA feature, it was impossible to decide.

EXTRAS:
1.  Two up, in the window,
2.  The rather tranquil view looking left of the break.  Rocks (in the sand) have been uncovered by the surf,
3.  Layers of breaking waves   (If the first one doesn't get you, the next one will . . .  ),
4.  Halona blowhole, and
