Thirlmere Steam

The Thirlmere Railway Museum near Sydney NSW, is a treasure trove of antique locomotives, rolling stock and train artifacts. Once a year they have an open day when they roll out some of the old locos and carriages, fire them up and pull trains along a disused section of railway line.

In trying to sum up the day with a single picture, I chose this one because the swirlings of steam suggested real motion. It was a great day. I loved it.
