Eye don't know how smart it is though because we've never used it. Got it from our bank when everyone was supposed to get eID for tax and security purposes (to identify yourself on the internet). Now we have the eID on our smart phones that just give us a code to identify ourselves with.
It's actually pretty smart. The internet site sends a message to your phone asking it to verify that the user is indeed you. Your phone then asks you if you know whats going on and want to verify yourself to this particular site. If you want to do that you type your personal password into your phone which in turn gives you a code to give the internet site. It then responds to the internet site saying that if the person trying to identify themselves on the site gives that particular code it is indeed you.
