"It's too orangey for crows " .......
Thursday already. The herd away to Stirling with a load of fat lambs,so I was Land Rover less all morning. Went back to spreading slurry, but had to keep adding more water from the burn as it was too thick to pump. It didn't help that at some stage someone (Mr Nobody as usual) must have run over the suction hose, and it kept folding in on its self !
Had a pal in at lunch time who works in procurement for one of the slaughter firms, wondering if we had any lambs ready. He said he was getting depressed as every farm he goes to he has to listen to the farmers moaning about the bad prices of lamb, the bad weather, the amount of grass and barley still to cut etc.etc. So I joined in and made him more depressed !
Had a heifer and a cow calve today, but a calf that was born last week has the scours,so gave it some antibiotics and stomach tubed it with this lovely re hydration mixture. Will see what happens.
