Ikon Touches the Premiers Touch Trophy

For two out of two seasons in a row, team Ikon are premiership winners in the Brisbane Media Touch Football Competition, beating GOA in the grand final!

Ikon were up 3-1 up at half time, but GOA pulled through in the second half and scored twice, meaning it was 3-all at full time.
If you were on the sideline it was hard to stand still and not scream your lungs out as with every sporting game, there were some very questionable calls denying us a few tries, but we kept up our spirits!

Drawing at full time meant the game was pushed to a 'drop-offs' situation where usually you start with a full team, then every couple of minutes, a player drops off until one team scores.
This time however, it was instructed that only 3 players take the field and that each team had a turn attacking before it became the first team to score a try.

In true Ikon style, with huge determination and fearless effort, we scored the first try, beating GOA after around 10 minutes of overtime play!!

Thanks to GOA for being an awesomely competitive team to play against. They showed their strengths throughout the season, beating Ikon twice in really close games, however we saved the best until last and pulled through in the end.

It's been a great season full of sore legs, friendly sledges, laughs and teamwork.

A big shoutout to all the Ikonners who came and supported the team in the grand final! One team, one dream, one premiership!

We'll sure have a hard time protecting our trophy...
