Standing Empty in the Maniototo

I'm down in the Maniototo this weekend, joining fellow blippers Gingernan, Optomist, Spikes2013 and a few like minded souls in Wedderburn in the Maniototo.

Just before we lost the light, myself, Gingernan and Spikes headed up to this abandoned farm up the road at Hills Creek. Apparently it's quite a popular spot with photographers - and apparently the owner is not so fond of people wandering around - so Gingernan got the details of the owner and phoned ahead to get us clearance.

This shot is with Spaniards (aciphylla sp.) in the foreground and the Hawkdun range behind the old farmhouse. The light was changing rapidly when we were out there, with scudding cloud one moment, then fleeting bands of sunlight the next

I've also included the view from the other side in the extra photos. It's a stunning spot.
