Checking out the flood defences

There is a huge amount of work happening on the south side of Winchester, in the water meadows, to strengthen the city's flood defences.  Here's where I was early afternoon looking across the Itchen Navigation into Palmer's Field, where this lovely dog was being taken for a walk - and swim.  The canal's been dredged and deepened.  It never used to be this much effort to get out of!

Apart from which, not much.  I didn't get nearly as much done as I meant too, still feeling tired from yesterday.  But it's been a beautiful day and the first of my sunflowers are properly out - yay!
