Faith with boots on

Today, the feast of St. Ignatius, born in the family castle in Spain, the youngest of 13 children. He became a soldier until a cannon ball and a series of bad operations ended his military career. While recovering he read the lives of the saints and dedicated himself to becoming a soldier of the Faith. He experienced visions, suffered trials of fears and scruples and, out of these experiences, he wrote his famous "Spiritual Exercises". Ignatian spirituality is a spirituality for everyday life. It insists that God is present in our world and active in our lives. It's a pathway to deeper prayer, good decisions guided by keen discernment, and an active life of service of others.
