Straw Bales in the Late Afternoon Sun

I wanted to get some photos of some straw bales for a painting I am doing. I sketched a scene during a painting course for working on in the studio 2 years ago. I have decided to start working on it again as there is to be an exhibition in town for amateur artists in September. I lost the photo during one of my computer melt downs and have been having trouble getting the colours right. We stopped on the way back from visiting B-I-L and I now have some nice close ups of the bales to work from.

This is a very familiar site in the surrounding areas to us at the moment. Apart from the forest, wine grapes and sweet corn, grain crops are extensively grown. It is interesting that so many of the crops are already in - about 3 weeks early due to the warm and dry weather. It will make up for last year when the rain delayed and ruined many of the grain crops.
